CCHS Speech and Debate Team
 
1.  Deadline to opt-out of Grant County is Monday!  This tournament will be flighted with congress in flight A.  Policy, public forum, and LD will also be offered.  As always, we need judges.  This is what we have you in tentatively (see Ms. Page to drop/change):

Courtney C. = duo, poetry
Christina = oratory, improv duo
Katie = improv duo, poetry, impromptu
Emily = broadcasting, prose
Zac = congress, impromptu, prose
Brian = policy debate
Courtney T. = policy debate
Abby = impromptu

2.  Be dressed and at CCHS at 6:30am on Saturday to head to Grant County!  We should be back to CCHS around 7:30 that evening.
3.  LOLLIPOP MONEY!  DROP FEES! 


 
 
1. Congrats to Brian for his 4th place finish in novice broadcasting!
2. Tuesday practice with Ms. Page is cancelled due to a meeting.  Anyone who wants extra time can come on Monday.
3.  Deadline to opt-out of Grant County (December 4th) is Monday, November 29th.  This tournament will be flighted with congress in flight A.  Policy, public forum, and LD will also be offered.

1.  Congratulations to Brian, Veronica, and Courtney C. for their placings at Highlands on Saturday!
2.  This Monday is the deadline to opt-out of Danville/Boyle Swing.  Tell Ms. Page if you are not doing all of your events or will not be attending. 
3.  Be at the front of CCHS at 4:00am on Saturday for the Danville/Boyle Swing.  Our estimated time of return is 10:00pm.  You need to bring a pillow, blanket, and your competition clothes, as well as money for meals and any competition materials (broadcasting scripts, black books, etc) you need.  You will not have a long time to primp and get ready, so be aware of this when planning your hair/makeup/outfits.  We suggest that for this trip that even though we plan on stopping for breakfast that you bring your own. 
4.  You need to be practicing multiple days per week so each practice we can focus on one event.  Please check the practice schedule and talk to the respective coach about scheduling additional regular practice times. 
5.  If you do not have our cell phone numbers, you need to get them.



 
 
1.  Be at Highlands High School on Saturday dressed professionally and ready to go at 7:30 am.
2.  Come to practice as much as possible!
3.  All of you still owe lollipop money.  $45! 
4.  The deadline for opting out of Danville/Boyle Swing is Monday, November 15.  All speech events are offered as well as varsity congress for Boyle and novice congress for Danville.  If you have a parent who would like to travel as a judge, tell Ms. Page as well.  We definitely need judges to travel with us to this tournament!
 
 
1.  Thursday practice with Ms. Page is cancelled/postponed.  You are welcome to come by and hope that she is out of her meeting by 3:00/3:30.
2.  This week and next week, come to extra practices as much as you can!  Ms. Page is also available this Wednesday but not next.  We have LOTS to do in order to be tournament-ready for Highlands.  
3.  Deadline to opt-out of the Highlands tournament (November 13) is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5.  Remember, you are expected to go to all tournaments unless you tell Ms. Page otherwise!  Dropping after the deadline means you will pay entry and drop fees for ALL of your entries!  Highlands will have all speech events plus policy, lincoln-douglas, and public forum debate.  No congress. Double-check with Ms. Page your events for this tournament!
4.  TURN IN YOUR LOLLIPOP MONEY = $45!  MOST OF YOU HAVEN'T EVEN PICKED UP YOUR SECOND BAG...   WE WILL TURN YOU INTO THE OFFICE FOR COLLECTIONS IF MONEY ISN'T TURNED IN BY FRIDAY!!!

1.  You MUST sign up for food and judges!!!  Our tournament is one week away and only Zach and Emily have fulfilled their requirements.  Additionally, not even half of you have signed up for your stuff. 
2.  Thursday practice is cancelled so Ms. Page can work on tournament stuff.  If you are a Thursday only person, try to stay another day to practice.  You can stay after school to help on Thursday, but we won't be practicing.   Remember, you can stay after any day this week to help with stuff.
3.  Remember that Friday is work day! 
4.  Bring in any items you can before Saturday.
5.  Turn in your lollipop money!  $45. 
 
 
1.  It is IMPERATIVE that you sign up for your judges and food!  Only Emily has signed up for anything.
2.  Speech judge training is THIS THURSDAY at 7pm in Ms. Page's room.  Debate judge training is NEXT TUESDAY at 7pm in Ms. Rose's room.
3.  Lollipops:  Each bag has 60 lollipops = $45.  Please make sure you count your money before you give it to me and make sure you have $45.
4.  Katie, you still owe $10.  We need shirts!
 
 
1.  Mandatory club meeting during activity time tomorrow!!!
2.  We start selling lollipops this week. :)
3.  One month until our first competition...  we have lots of work to do!  Remember, if a practice slot says "by appointment", you can always ask us to stay during that time for extra practice.
4.  Still need money from Jake, Katie, and Eric.  Can't order shirts until then. :(
5.  Debate judge training will be on Tuesday, October 26th at 7pm in Ms. Rose's room.
 
 
1.  Remember, no practice on Monday.
2.  We will be selling lollipops after fall break.  Get your selling shoes on!!!
3.  You need to find AT LEAST TWO adult judges for our tournament on October 30.  There will be a training session for speech on Thursday, October 21st at 7pm in Ms. Page's room.  A debate judge training will be scheduled as well.
4.  The next activity day is after fall break.  We will be discussing major stuff for our tournament!  You must be there!
5.  It would be nice to order shirts.  We still need $$$ from Jake, Katie, and Eric.
 
 
1.  THANK YOU to those whose parents attended the meeting on Thursday night.  Nobody told us that their parents had a conflict, so we are really disappointed in the rest of you.  Stuff that we plan is very important.  If your parents were not at the meeting, you need to tell them to be expecting an email or call from us in the next few days.
2.  If you practice on Mondays, note that practice is cancelled next week (September 27).  This week is still ON!  Try to stay another day next week to make up. 
3.  Some of you still owe some $$$.  Pay up!   We can't order t-shirts until this is done. 
4.  There are 7 school weeks until our first scheduled competition (we don't compete at our own tournament).  That means only 7 practices/event!
