2.  NFL districts (a national qualifying tournament) is a mandatory tournament on your schedule, but a number of factors determine exactly who is able to compete.  This year, Zac, Courtney, Roni, and Brian will be our representatives at this tournament.  Hopefully we can qualify someone for Dallas in June!
3.  Thursday's practice with Ms. Page will be cancelled due to KESDA.
4.  Congress peeps (Zac, Brian, Roni, Emily) = we will be having congress practice with Ms. Page on Tuesdays

2.  Tuesday practice with Ms. Rose will be canceled due to select choir auditions.  Tuesday practice with Ms. Page goes on as normal.  Friday practice with Ms. Rose will be changed to Ms. Page due to KMEA.
3.  REGIONALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Be dressed and ready to go in front of CCHS at 11:15am.  Yes, you get to sleep in!  This is the last shot for any entries that have not qualified for the state tournament.  In order to qualify at regionals, you must have a composite of 6 (over 2 rounds of competition).  In addition, anyone who gets double 1's in an event will get free dinner at state from Ms. Page!  We will be back from regionals around 6:30pm. 
4.  Anyone who wants to get extra practice in can do so Thursday 3:30-4:30 or Friday 2:30-4:30 with Ms. Page.
]]>Sun, 30 Jan 2011 19:37:42 -0800http://campbellspeech.weebly.com/2/post/2011/01/super-awesome-speech-notes-week-of-131.html1.  The last invitational tournament of the season is on Saturday!  Be at Ryle High School at 7:30am.  The deadline to opt out of this one is Wednesday at 12:00 noon.  We desperately need judges for this tournament!  Please let Ms. Page know if you have a judge.

2.  Congrats to our team on getting 3rd place in small school sweepstakes at Harrison County!  Brian = 6th impromptu; Christina = 7th oratory, 3rd improv duo; Katie = 6th poetry, 3rd improv duo. 

3.  Activity day is Tuesday.  Please bring pictures from this year so we can update our recruitment board. 

4.  NFL update:  This weekend, Brian achieved the degree of excellence, Katie moved up to honor, Ms. Page is almost up to her coaching superior distinction, and Christina and Roni are almost at honor.  Remember, any time you speak in public you could earn service points.  If you compete in other academic speaking contests (4-H, FBLA, etc) you can earn NFL points for those too. 

5.  Regionals is Saturday, Feb. 12.  Each person is going in all of his/her events unless Ms. Page has already talked to you otherwise.  If you have not prequalified for the state tournament yet, this is your last shot.  Let's get in lots of extra practice!

2.  Ms. Page needs to know by end of day on Monday if you are not going to Harrison County this weekend.  (Courtney, I've taken you out.)  Zac and Katie, please confirm that you are indeed doing your new events.

3.  Meet at the high school at 6:15, dressed and ready on Saturday!  We will be home around 6:30pm.

4.  Some of you have been asking for tournament attendance counts.  Remember, you must attend at least 4 invitational tournaments.  There are only 2 tournaments left (Harrison Co. and Ryle), so some of you MUST attend both of these.

2.  Let Ms. Page know BY CLC ON TUESDAY if you are not attending or have important changes to your entry for Assumption -- pay attention to the flights below!  The tournament will be flighted, and congress is on flight A.  If you enter in congress, you may not enter anything else in that flight.  Otherwise, you may only do two events per flight.

Flight A (Prose, Extemp, Improv Duo, Broadcasting, Declamation, DI, Congress)
Flight B (Poetry, Storytelling, Impromptu, Oratory, Duo Interp, HI)

3.  We are leaving CCHS at 4:20am on Saturday and will be back around 10:30pm.  We do not plan on stopping for breakfast, so eat/bring food with you.  Don't forget blanket/pillow/warm stuff!

2.  You must come tell Ms. Page if you are not attending Henry Clay/Knott Co. Swing this Saturday by END OF DAY MONDAY!!!  Please come by either way to double-check your entry.
3.  We will be leaving CCHS at 5:15am on Saturday and will probably be back around 10pm.
4.  Ms. Page will be holding extra practice on Monday, Friday, and possibly Wednesday (have to check teacher meeting schedule, so check with her), so stay after for extra practice.
5.  Broadcasters, Ms. Page wants to see your scripts by Thursday.  You can bring them in or email them to her.
6.  Union Community Theatre will be hosting an young actors workshop for grades 8-12 Thursday January 6th and Friday January 7th from 4:00pm - 6:30pm both days. This is a two day workshop, and registration is for both days! Topic is physical theatre. Sign ups are first come first serve. Class caps at 15 students and is $20 a student. 2.  Clubs are this week.  We'd especially like impromptu people to come to work on the idea box (something we talked about last year that is now coming into fruition). 
3.  January tournaments will be BIG and TOUGH.  Let's get lots of practice in before winter break!  The next tournament is Henry Clay/KCC swing on January 8th.  Deadline to drop this tournament is Monday, January 3rd. 
4.  Congratulations to our newest NFL members, Roni and Brian!  You two need to bring $15 for your lifetime membership fees.  Christina is ONE POINT away from becoming a member, and Abby is TWO POINTS away from moving up to the degree of honor... excitement!
